The Lancashire Science Festival is hosted by the University of Central Lancashire, at the Preston Campus. Look out for the signs for the University or the yellow AA signage for Lancashire Science Festival.

Free parking is available across all UCLan Campus car parks during our Family Day’s. Please note that on-campus parking is limited so please check out our Parking FAQ for other options or please consider using public transport. Further details of sustainable travel options can be found below or on our campus map.

On arrival (Family Day only) please ensure that you head to one of the check-in points.

Due to the UCLan Masterplan, it may take you a little longer to reach the festival. This map outlines the new road layout, which will complement the University’s Student Centre and new University Square, the final key part of our transformational Campus Masterplan. The roads will allow for two-way traffic to move around the square freely, keeping traffic queues to a minimum and creating a safer vehicular environment. Pedestrians will benefit from wider, more level footpaths and a more welcoming, green environment provided by many semi-mature trees, planters and an attractive granite finish.

Scheduled to be completed by summer 2021, highways enabling works are now taking place on site for the second phase of the highways scheme, resulting in a number of road closures and diversions.

Full pedestrian access will be available throughout all phases of the highways works, but cyclists will be asked to dismount and use pedestrian routes until completion of the project. When the project is complete, Adelphi Street, from its junctions with St Peter’s Street to Victoria Street, will become pedestrianised.

Friargate, Moor Lane, Walker Street and a new road replacing the Adelphi roundabout are now open to traffic. Adelphi Street will remain closed until early spring.

Corporation Street is closed to all road users between Edward Street and Kendal Street until March 2021 with all road users diverted down Friargate as an alternative route.

UCLan is conveniently situated within walking distance of Preston Railway Station. Preston also benefits from direct rail links north and south to London and Glasgow and to Manchester Airport. For more information and a route planner go to National Rail.

On foot from the Railway Station (1/2 Mile)
